Home-Start Hillingdon

My “Day job” is a Health Visitor in Uxbridge. I trained as a Nursery Nurse, and Midwife first before working with parents and Babies in the community. My experience with children comes from my training and having ten “Godchildren” [two are now parents themselves!].

I first became involved with Home-start when I was visiting families who were isolated and new to the area. I thought they would benefit from a Volunteer who would offer friendly support. I realized that my area didn’t have a Home-Start so together with the hard work of colleagues we eventually managed to set up the scheme.

I am pleased to be a part of Home-Start as I think it’s a charity that gives good benefit to families and all those involved in it.
